I was afraid the filling surface would be too rough, but it's actually gentle and still trims the nails effectively. I Prefer this way over clippers any day

I bought this with zero expectations because my dog hates having his paws touched. I put a treat inside and within 10 minutes his nails were noticably shorter!

What about the back legs?
The back nails usually wear down naturally during daily walks.
By keeping the front nails short and well-maintained, you're addressing the most important issue: pressure, posture, and discomfort caused by uneven weight distribution
The front paws carry most of your dog's body weight. They grow faster and take the most impact, which is why they need more frequent maintenance.

Can it damage the pads?
The main contact occurs at the tip of the nail, not on the pad, and there are no forced movements: Your dog scratches at their own pace, for a few minutes, voluntarily.
When used correctly and under supervision, it does not affect the pads. In fact, it is much gentler than holding the leg and cutting by force.

Is it safer than cutting?
Yes. Since there is no direct cut, you avoid the risk of cutting too much or hitting the quick. It’s a more gradual and less stressful alternative, especially for nervous dogs.
